WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
This course covers the knowledge and skills required to design a (TMP) traffic management plan for an activity requiring temporary traffic management.
It covers:
- Compiling a solution for an activity requiring temporary traffic management.
- Preparing traffic management plan information for an activity.
- Consulting with relevant stakeholders who carry out the requirements of the traffic management plan.
- Submission of traffic management plans for approval with various road controlling authorities.
How the course is delivered
This course is delivered through on-job practical assessment with personalized assessor support. You will be mentored by one of our qualified TMP assessors.
Training Pathways
On successful completion of this standard 33254, learners will be able to work as a qualified TMP designer.
Entry Requirements
To participate in this training, you must currently be in a TMP designer role, have access to the relevant software, and have a qualified TMP designer available to verify your work.
Learners must compile a portfolio of evidence of one or more traffic management plans that they have developed. Evidence of traffic management plans need to cover any five of the following factors:
- Low speed ≤ 60 km/hr
- High speed ≥ 70 km/hr
- Presence of vulnerable road users
- Multi-lane
- Motorway
- Intersections
It is recommended that learners work towards completing unit standards 30265 and/or 33252 and 33253.
