LATEST NEWS

From 1 November 2024, NZTA ceased administration and registration of TTM warrants where there is an identical unit standard offering.

This means that the TMO-NP, TMO, STMS Universal, STMS (A/B/C) -NP, and STMS (A/B/C) warrants are no longer issued and the training will continue to be delivered as Unit Standards 31958, 31959, 31960, 31961, 31962, and 31963.

NZTA will discontinue offering the Inspector warrant from 30 June 2025. This means all Inspector workshops and assessments must be completed on or before 30 June 2025 to be eligible to be registered in the NZTA database.

Mobile -NP and Mobile P warrants continue to be administered by NZTA.

How do I find my NSN?

To find your National Student Number:

  • If you’re currently at school, you can ask your school for your NSN, OR
  • call the NZQA call centre on 0800 697 296, OR
  • Click here and follow the instructions.

What training do I need?

The recommended training for becoming a Traffic Management Operative (TMO) is:

  • TTM Worker
  • TMO -NP
  • TMO Mentoring and Practical Assessment

The recommended training for becoming a Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) is:

  • TTM Worker
  • STMS Universal
  • STMS Cat A and B -NP
  • STMS Cat A and B Mentoring and Practical Assessments

If a learner wishes to complete all of the TTM unit standards, the TTM Worker Workshop only needs to be completed once (at the start of the training).

PCBUs need to show that maintaining competeny through ongoing training occurs for people who already hold the TTM unit standards as per the Health and Safety in Work Act 2015. TMNZ recommends doing this every two years. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions.
